Selected File: FileBack PC Backup & Copy Utility by Maximum Output Software
available versions:
FileBack PC v4.4.196 Release
FileBack PC v3.26c
High speed file backup and synchronization utility which sits in your system tray. FileBack PC allows you to specify which files are backed up, where, and when. Includes support for automatic backup of changed files (via notification from OS), removable media, automatic network connection restoration, file restoration wizard, and backup directory cleanup wizard.File backup with revision tracking: You may keep up to 99 versions of any file or group of files. With the built-in file restoration tools, you can restore any file(s) to the original location to their state as of a given date and time since the backups were started. Directory synchronization: Keep two directories in perfect synchronization. Backups at Windows startup and shutdown: Most Windows configuration files are most often changed before Windows exits. Backing up at Windows startup or shutdown keeps your important configuration files backed up all the time.
Backups at timed intervals: You set the interval of how often you want the timed backups to run. Since FileBack runs in the background and only backs up files which have changed, you can set it to run as often as you like; it runs without interrupting your work. Automatic backup of changed files: Windows 9x and XP/Vista support directory change notification. In other words, whenever you save a file to a directory is being watched by FileBack, a backup is automatically created within ten seconds. Because Windows is monitoring the directory rather than FileBack, your system does not slow down monitoring your file system. This feature works great with synchronized directories: whenever a directory changes, the synchronized copy is updated as well. It also works well with revisioning because every time you save a new revision is created.
Scheduled backups: In version 3.x you may schedule backups to occur at whatever time you choose. Other scheduling options are available as well.
Easy directory cleanup: With many backup programs, old, obsolete files which have long since been deleted linger in the backup location. FileBack has both manually activated and automatic backup directory cleanup. When it is active, deleting a file in a source directory will also delete the backups in the backup directory. Automatic cleanup can be set to run at any time of day on the days of the week you choose.Easy file restoration: File restoration is done through a wizard-like interface making it easy to restore any and all files that have been backed up. You can restore the most recent backup, restore files to the way they were at a given date and time, or select which version of each file to restore manually. If you want to restore your files the way they were just a few minutes ago, last week, or a combination thereof, this may be done easily.
